- We have selected this course for class 6 students as they are at a crucial age where their cultural awareness and sensitivity begin to develop.
- Learning about different cultures, traditions, and perspectives fosters empathy, open-mindedness, and appreciation for diversity.

- Interactive activities, such as cultural immersion experiences or guest speakers from different backgrounds, can bring these lessons to life and encourage students to ask questions and engage with new perspectives.
- Developing cultural competence at this age will prepare students to navigate an increasingly globalised world, building relationships, and collaborating effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
- These skills are invaluable for personal growth, academic success, and future career opportunities where cultural understanding and sensitivity are highly valued.

Why we have this course and how it is going to help students in future
We have chosen to offer the Cultural Competence course to twelfth-grade students for several important reasons:
- As students prepare to enter a globalised world, whether in higher education or the workforce, understanding and respecting diverse cultures is essential. This course provides them with the tools to interact respectfully and effectively with people from different cultural backgrounds.
- Students will learn about various cultural norms, values, and communication styles. They will engage in activities such as role-playing to practise intercultural interactions, which might include negotiating a conflict or collaborating on a project with people from different cultural backgrounds.
- The course also focuses on self-awareness, helping students reflect on their own cultural biases and perspectives. This awareness is critical for fostering respectful and empathetic interactions.
- Cultural competence is not only a social asset but also a professional one. Many employers value employees who can navigate culturally diverse environments, as it enhances teamwork and expands business opportunities.
- Ultimately, this course will equip students with the confidence and skills to become more effective global citizens, ready to contribute positively in a diverse world.
