Foundations of Digital Marketing

Digital marketing

Digital marketing involves promoting products, services, or brands through digital channels such as social media, email, search engines, and websites. It leverages online strategies and tools to reach and engage audiences effectively, measure campaign performance, and adapt to changing consumer behaviours and technological advancements.

Why we have this course and how it is going to help students in future

We have chosen to introduce the Digital Marketing course to ninth-grade students for several compelling reasons:

  • Today’s world is increasingly digital. By understanding digital marketing, students gain insights into how businesses reach and influence their audiences online. This knowledge is crucial as digital presence becomes more integrated into every aspect of business.
  • The course covers key topics such as social media marketing, content creation, and the basics of SEO (Search Engine Optimization). For example,

students might create a mock social media campaign for a fictional product or learn how to make a blog more visible in search engine results.

  • Learning digital marketing skills can enhance students’ creativity and technical abilities. They learn to use digital tools to craft compelling messages and to analyse the effectiveness of their campaigns.
  • These skills are not only applicable to future careers in marketing but are also valuable for any field where digital communication and online branding are relevant.
  • Finally, this course encourages critical thinking about the media and digital content students interact with daily, fostering a more informed and discerning approach to digital consumption and production.
